Advanced Restorative Dentistry Course 2011
Suitable for experienced practitioners    Three days course, one Day per month at Kew facility Provides essential knowledge to undertake complex restorative cases    Theory and practical exercises in a small group setting. Day one Introduction to modern Occlusal understanding. Conformist versus Reformist approach to occlusion, and Bio-esthetic principles of form and function. Practical use of semi-adjustable articulators with emphasis on a systematic process for treatment planning, execution of accurate jaw registrations and mounting. Delivery of Diagnostic Wax-ups as predictors in aesthetic reconstructive work Soft tissue manipulation for aesthetic pontics, use of fibre reinforced provisional crowns/bridgework Day two TMJ examinations, diagnosis and treatment of common dysfunctions De-programming splint therapy. Introduction to the MAGO splint (Maxillary anterior guided orthotic) with step by step tuition on fabrication and adjustments Concept of 'Facial Dentistry' (tm) : incorporating Smile design and good occlusal scheme to produce a stable and long term aesthetic outcome Day three Case studies for aesthetic restorative dentistry: putting it together Introduction to Laser dentistry : practical tuition on Erbium YAG and NdYag instruments. This day covers soft tissue surgery, Hard tissue tooth preparations, endodontic treatment with lasers, and periodontal surgery with lasers.
Course fee £1,500 plus vat includes notes, reprints and buffets 2011 course dates to be announced. 3 Wednesdays, one Wednesday per month April, May and June. Course days begin at 2pm and end at 8pm
	Dr Howard Stean Howard Stean qualified in London in 1971. He gained his MGDS in 1981 has recently been installed as Visiting Professor in restorative dentistry, University of Havana, Cuba. Dr Stean is Chairman of ADAPT, Director of Dental Education Ltd and operates a successful Private practice in Kew, London.
